Ascension Lutheran Church

Worship Times

Sunday Worship during Coronavirus Crisis

Until further notice, all worship "in person" gatherings have been canceled. During this time, we are offering virtual worship online via Zoom. To participate, email Pastor Tom (pastor@ascensionluth.org) and he will send you a link where you can join us virtually "face-to-face" through the screen and audio of your PC/laptop/smartphone. (Those with landlines or older "flip phones" can also join but with audio only. Please specify in your request for a link and Pastor Tom will tailor the link for your needs.)

Ascension is complying with guidance from our Bishop and the Centers for Disease Control in keeping our members and guests safe.

USUAL SUNDAY SCHEDULE
Adult Sunday School 9:00 a.m.

Worship 10:00 a.m.

Children's Learning & Worship
takes place during our 10 am Worship Service.

Our worship service is based on the ancient liturgy of the church set to music that is modern but dignified, lending itself to joyful celebration but also promoting a sense of mystery and spiritual reflection.

Maundy Thursday
Service at 6:30 p.m.

The word Maundy comes from the Latin mandatum, which means "commandment." At the Last Supper, Jesus gave the disciples a new commandment to love one another as he had loved them (John 13:34).

Good Friday
Service at 6:30 p.m.

A quiet service of contemplation when the church becomes progressively darker as we remember Jesus' sacrifice on the cross.

Easter Sunday: Celebration of Christ's Resurrection
Worship Service 10 a.m.

The full joyful celebration of the greatest day on the Church's calendar. We gather because Christ was resurrected.  Because He lives, we live also. Hallelujah!
