All are welcome!
We welcome people from all walks of life and in all places in the journey of faith to Ascension. Whether you’re a lifelong Lutheran, a former something else, or a seeker and questioner looking for more to life and a place to explore, we’re glad you are here. Please fill out a Visitor Card (located in pockets on back of pews). We will only contact you in the ways you indicate.
About our worship: Worship at Ascension emphasizes grace, encountering God through Christ for ALL people through Word and Sacrament, experiencing holiness and mystery through music, beauty, ritual, silence, and the gathered community. Our worship is rooted in the historic, liturgical and musical traditions of the church while enjoying church music from all eras.
Sacraments: Christians are made members of the body of Christ (the Church) through Holy Baptism. Lutherans believe that Christ is truly present in the bread and wine of Holy Eucharist (Communion, Lord’s Supper), which offers us the gift of forgiveness and the promise of eternal life. All are welcome to Christ’s table. Those not baptized may come for a blessing. To learn more about living as a baptized, communing member of the body of Christ, email the pastor (email@example.com) or speak with him following worship.
A different kind of church
We believe that Christ loves us and has called us together to be a welcoming and serving community. We believe that Christ sends us out into our community to share His compassion and to proclaim His unconditional love for all. He calls us all to make a real difference. Come and be a part of that difference! Ascension takes its name from the event of Christ being taken up bodily ("ascending") into heaven (Mark 16:19-20; Luke 24:50-53; Acts 1:6-11).
Ascension is a member congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
